DFX Pumpsizing App

The Pump Sizing App for Android, helps in selecting the right size of pump for a Water Flow and for a given pressure Head.

The calculations are based on standard pump characteristics.

In addition to the two basic Inputs :

• Water Flow

• Pressure Head

The App accepts the following :

• Motor Efficiency (currently default set to 0.75)

• Pump Efficieny (currently default set to 0.65)

The Water Flow Units can be selected from :

• m3/hr (Default)

• lpm

• cfm

• gpm

The Pressure Head Units can be selected from :

• m (Default)

• ft

To simplfy data entry, most of the common parameters are set by default. Hence, the user is mainly required to enter only two values, for pump selection.

Internally, the standard pump sizes are stored, in a database, to assist the APP in selecting the suitable pump for the Application.

The final result gives the user :

• The calculated HP

• The Selected Motor

The APP once downloaded on the Smart Phone, requires no internet connectivity to operate. Thus it is an ideal companion for Engineers at Site and on the move.
